Sometimes it happens that teeth are not placed in their correct position in the row of teeth and can grow properly into the oral cavity, but lie obliquely in the jaw. Depending on the initial situation, such teeth have to be removed or can be moved into the correct position as part of orthodontic treatment.
Three-dimensional imaging and treatment
In some cases, it makes sense to take a three-dimensional image during our initial examination in order to assess whether the tooth structure is correct, whether neighbouring teeth have already been affected and whether it is possible to integrate the tooth into the dental arch.
Upon referral by your orthodontist, we then either remove the displaced tooth or prepare the tooth for placement in the dental arch.
This procedure involves exposing the tooth in the jaw and attaching a small chain to which the orthodontist can move the tooth into its proper position.
